About

If you want a break from the Treasure Coast sun, consider visiting the National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum. While some displays and attractions are outdoors, most of the museum is in an air-conditioned facility.

The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of the Navy Underwater Demolition Teams (UDT) and Sea, Air, Land (SEAL) teams.

These teams have played a critical role in American military history from World War II to the present. The museum is where the original Frogmen, the forerunners of the Navy SEALs, underwent training during World War II.

The facility is home to an impressive collection of artifacts, memorabilia, and interactive exhibits that provide insight into the secretive world of the Navy SEALs. Displays cover various aspects of UDT and SEAL history, including their formation, evolution, notable missions, and the equipment used by these elite forces.

Artifacts include everything from uniforms and weapons to vehicles and crafts used in operations. The museum also pays tribute to the UDT and SEALs who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

One cool feature of the museum is the obstacle course. Visitors can try their hand at a scaled-down version of the actual obstacle course SEAL trainees use.

While it is a challenge, it provides a unique opportunity to get a small taste of the physical demands of those training to become Navy SEALs.

Additionally, the museum is home to a piece of the World Trade Center's steel beam, a poignant reminder of the 9/11 attack. It is also a sober reminder of the subsequent involvement of the SEALs in the war on terror.

Another notable exhibit is the Maersk Alabama lifeboat, on which Somali pirates held Captain Richard Phillips hostage in 2009. This incident was famously depicted in the Tom Hanks film Captain Phillips.

The National Navy UDT-SEAL Museum is a must-visit attraction for anyone interested in the military, history, or a unique experience. It's family-friendly and is a fantastic way to learn about history on your Treasure Coast vacation.

Plan for your visit taking about 2-3 hours.
