About

When your Tampa getaway calls for seaside dining, look no further than Fresco's Waterfront Bistro. Set right where the St. Pete Pier begins, this restaurant is known for its sweeping views of the marina and Tampa Bay's blue water.

Our story begins in 2003, when local attorney David Sockol took over a spot then called Apropos. His goal? Creating a relaxing, scenic dining destination. He invested in upgrades, such as a roomy outdoor deck and a large awning, allowing customers to enjoy the water views in comfort. The shift created a memorable open-air dining experience.

While Fesco's has thrived, overcoming storms, tough seasons, and economic shifts, the major renovation of St. Pete Pier in 2020 attracted more visitors. The influx of tourists to the pier transformed the restaurant from a mostly seasonal choice to a year-round favorite.

Additionally, other nearby landmarks make Fresco's the perfect choice after a day of sightseeing. For example, after perusing the artwork at The Dali Museum or strolling The Tampa Riverwalk, you're never far from a relaxing, waterfront meal and drink.

Visit for yourself and discover why Fresco's Waterfront Bistro is one of Tampa's hot spots.

Vibe

The restaurant stands out with its nautical mural and blue neon roofline lights, beckoning at night. During daylight, the mural still captures the senses, as does the sprawling marina in the background.

The interior's exposed ceilings and ductwork add an industrial element, while the wood shiplap walls, bar, and floor offer natural touches.

The main dining area is air-conditioned, offering relief on those hot Florida days. Large windows draw your attention straight to the boats, connecting you with Tampa's waterways.

While the indoor seating is appealing, the prime dining spots are out on the surrounding deck. Here, umbrella-covered tables dot the planks, offering unobstructed views of the marina. With the sound of gulls overhead and the water lapping the deck posts, it makes for a relaxing atmosphere.

All this adds up to an atmosphere that captures the spirit of a perfect Sunshine State vacation.

Fresco's Waterfront Bistro: Menu & Drinks

The restaurant offers brunch, lunch, and dinner menus packed with mouthwatering appetizers and entrees. We can't examine each thoroughly, but we'll highlight those that are worth exploring.

The lobster bisque is one of the most popular starters and is available on all three menus. This creamy, rich soup comes in a cup or bowl and is hearty enough to be a meal!

One dish that's also on all the menus and that draws praise is the Lobster Roll. Whether you're from nearby or have roots in New England, you'll be impressed with the amount of Maine lobster in this sandwich! It comes on a Hawaiian roll with drawn butter and your choice of one side.

The Poke Tuna Bowl is another menu highlight! This Asian-inspired classic features Sashimi-grade tuna, sesame seeds, carrots, cucumber, spring mix, avocado, ginger, seaweed salad, and wasabi peas. This mixture of seafood and fresh ingredients comes with white rice, teriyaki sauce, and ginger sriracha aioli.

Other highlights include pasta dishes, steaks, tacos, and sandwiches. Brunch is your go-to for Benedicts, omelets, and French toast, as well as many lunch and dinner items. Also noteworthy is the kids' brunch menu, which makes dining here family-friendly.

Drinks also shine at Fresco's. Outstanding cocktails make it easier to settle in and enjoy the scenery. One favorite is the Signature Ultimate Margarita, crafted with Patrón tequila for a crisp, smooth flavor. The Strawberry Lemonade steals the show on hot afternoons, blending Tito's Vodka, real strawberries, a splash of lemon, and house-made syrup for the perfect complement to an outdoor meal.

A meal at Fresco's Waterfront Bistro promises top-notch service, big flavors, and beautiful water views.
