About

In the heart of Sun Valley stands Dollar Mountain, which has an elevation of 6,638 feet.

As part of the renowned Sun Valley Ski Resort, Dollar Mountain draws snow enthusiasts from all walks of life. While Bald Mountain is the go-to for advanced skiers, Dollar Mountain proudly caters to beginners and lower-intermediate skiers, creating an inviting atmosphere for those looking to carve their first turns.

Dollar Mountain is the birthplace of the world's first chairlift and has evolved into a winter wonderland with 16 trails, five lifts, and 628 feet of vertical drop.

Its treeless, sun-kissed face offers diverse experiences, making it the perfect destination for snow lovers of all skill levels.

Dollar Mountain's history is rich with developments. In 2004, a new day lodge, named after Carol Holding, was erected at the base, boasting spaciousness and style comparable to lodges at Bald Mountain.

The commitment to improvement continued with the installation of permanent snowmaking in 2006, ensuring reliable snow coverage. Moreover, the old fixed-grip double lifts were replaced in 2007 with high-speed detachable quads, marking a stride towards modernity.

With its rich history and inviting slopes, the mountain is a treasure trove for beginners and families.

Whether you're a seasoned skier or strapping on your boots for the first time, Dollar Mountain promises an experience that will leave you with a grin and fresh tracks in the Idaho snow!
