About
The best pizza on the mountain is at the Pizza Slice! With fresh ingredients, made-from-scratch dough, and a wood-fire oven, these pizzas won't disappoint!
This restaurant is located within the Corduroy Inn, next to the Powder Monkey Townhomes. Pizza Slice is privately owned under the same ownership as Appalachia Kitchen and Tuque's Bar and Grill - found in the same plaza.
Note: The free bus shuttle service on the mountain makes a stop right in front of the Corduroy Inn.
If you are ordering multiple pizzas, we highly recommend placing it online or ahead via phone. Due to all pizzas being made-to-order, there will be a wait for large orders. In addition, the Pizza Slice kitchen serves Tuque's. If you're in a rush, they also offer convenient carryout. Parking for carry-out is right out front.
What's on the menu at the Pizza Slice?
Though the menu is small, it's mighty. There are various pizzas and a couple salads to choose from. If you are ordering for 1, you can purchase pizza by the slice.
Margherita
You can never go wrong with a margherita pizza! Featuring a base of fresh San Marzano tomato sauce and mozzarella. On top, there is a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and tasty basil.
Mediterranean
Feeling a little adventurous or want to go with a healthier choice? Try the Mediterranean! It comes with oven-roasted Roma tomatoes, Kalamata olives, caramelized onion, artichoke hearts, arugula, and crumbled feta!
Bianca
More commonly known as a white or great white pizza, the Bianca has a base of various cheeses and roasted garlic sauce. This includes fresh mozzarella, ricotta, fontina, and parmigiano-reggiano. Lastly, it's drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. The mixture of cheeses and garlic sauce gives this pie a nice tang.
BYOP
Nothing on the menu calling to you? No problem. Build your own pizza! This option begins with a traditional cheese pizza. Then, the cost per each additional ingredient is $2.75.
Gelato & Other Desserts
The only place you can find gelato on the mountain is at the Pizza Slice! Or, one of the other restaurants under the same ownership - Appalachia or Tuque's. They often have classic flavors available such as vanilla, chocolate, and/or strawberry. On the other hand, more unique flavors include pistachio and salted caramel. Gelato comes in 16oz pint containers, perfect for sharing! The cost is $12/pint.
Further, they also sell Caramel Pecan Brownies and Chocolate Cake. If you're looking for a large, shareable dessert you have to get the Towering Chocolate Cate. It weighs a whole pound!
