Due to a special permit that the Red Rock Balloons company has, they are able to tour over the Coconino National Forest. The Coconino National Forest is a federally protected, diverse landscape - covering an astounding 1.856 million acres! Coconino is known as one of the most dynamic forests featuring the famous red rocks and Ponderosa pines. Additionally, you'll find environments on both ends of the spectrum. For example, mountain ranges, canyons, lakes, and streams all exist in this National forest.

It's important to mention that you must reach out to Red Rock Balloons ahead of time to ensure your reservation. We recommend reaching out as soon as you know your dates because rides can fill up quickly, especially during peak season.
They operate their flights every day of the year; however, this is a weather permitting activity. Therefore, if winds or weather are too intense, you may have to cancel or reschedule your ride.

What to expect:
Pick up and drop off is included with your cost, as long as your hotel is in Sedona. Your pick up time will vary, depending on the season and when the sun is rising accordingly. You will meet at the launch site with your pilot, professional crew, and any other people in your ride. Then, it's time to ascend in the balloon! You can expect a smooth and gentle lift off from your experienced pilot.
From above, you will have sprawling, panoramic views that will take your breath away! Endless Red Rocks, forest, and landmarks will be far below you as you glide with the wind. Make sure you have your camera handy to capture some special moments! You will be in the air for 1-1.5 hours. This depends on the wind conditions and the discretion of your pilot. When it's time to come down, you'll be greeted with a celebratory toast! All in all, this activity takes an estimated 3-4 hours.
Overall, this experience offers a unique and magical opportunity to see Sedona from a bird's eye view. Though it's on the pricey side of activities in Sedona, we find it to be well worth the cost.
