About

Nothing beats the smell of a freshly baked pie out of the oven, and that's exactly what you'll experience at Slice of Humboldt Pie. It was started by a bunch of bakers who were all very much into family recipes, local ingredients, and the sheer joy of sharing a good pie. Since it opened, it's been the place people go to for a slice of the old days or a very special meal.

The standard is very high indeed. Everything is locally sourced where possible, and all the pies are made from scratch in-house. There's something for everyone in the case, whether you're after something sweet, something savory, or indeedsomething gluten-free. It's more than just a bakery really; it's a community shop and a place where you can always feel at home whether you're with friends, with family or on your own.

Vibe

Slice of Humboldt Pie from the outside is a very cheery, welcoming place with a bright sign promising good things inside. Once you're in the door, it's a very pleasant, relaxed sort of place with the smell of butter, fruit, and herbs all around. The interior is very simple and quite warm, with wooden tables, a chalkboard menu, and some fun pie-themed artwork on the walls. There's plenty of seating for you to sit and enjoy a coffee and a slice, as well as larger tables for people to come in and share a pie flight or a lunch.

The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, full of the general buzz of conversation and laughter, with the occasional clatter of plates as a fresh pie comes out of the oven. The staff is always very welcoming and happy to give you a recommendation or let you have a taste before you go. You really do feel at home whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor.

Slice of Humboldt Pie: Menu & Drinks

The Chicken Pot Pie is a local legend, showcasing chicken, carrots, and peas in a rich, creamy sauce, all in a golden, flaky crust. For a twist, the 'Spinach & Feta' hand pie is a popular vegetarian option, well seasoned and perfect for a quick lunch. The 'Marionberry Pie' is a must for the sweet tooth, full of local marionberries with the right balance of tart and sweet.

The menu also has a rotating selection of seasonal pies (apple-caramel in autumn, strawberry-rhubarb in spring, etc.) as well as vegan and gluten-free options that do not sacrifice flavor. Your slice is best enjoyed with a cup of locally roasted coffee or a cold glass of milk.

Dining at Slice of Humboldt Pie is about more than just pie; it’s about celebrating good food, good company, and the simple joys that make life sweet.
