About

SALT Fish House is one of the best places to dine on fresh seafood in Arcata. Owned by the same restauranteurs as Campground just a couple blocks over, you can expect the same high quality cuisine and upscale decor.

Located in the Arcata Plaza, they are central to all the action in town. At SALT, they're dedicated to serving the freshest and most original takes on Seafood. Further, their mission is to share their love of the ocean and passion for bringing people together with food!

Here, you can expect classic seaside favorites and unique offerings on the menu. If you are interested in a more traditional and land focused menu, try their other restaurant concept called Campground.

Lunch Menu

Fish n Chips or Fried Fish Sandwich

Fried fish in two ways - with a side of fries or as a handheld! Either option makes the perfect lunch time meal.

Chowder Fries

If you like fries and clam chowder, you'll love this starter snack. A bed of fries is smothered with clam chowder and served hot. Word of advice: make sure you have a fork handy, this can get messy!

Poke Bowl

Also available on the dinner menu, what's a seafood restaurant without a classic Poke Bowl? This dish comes with ahi tuna, soy sauce, sesame, cucumber, and edamame all on top of sushi rice. Poke bowls are a wonderfully tasty and refreshing meal that satisfies your hunger while still leaving you feeling light.

Dinner Menu

Raw Bar

Of course, the raw bar is highly popular at this Seafood hub. Choose from a variety of oyster quantities and flavors including garlic butter, red curry, or chermoula. You can also order oysters raw or grilled. This dish is available during lunch as well.

Alternatively, Market Ceviche Tostadas and Ahi Poke are also great options to try! If you've got a large party, consider the Seafood Tray. Though one of the most expensive items on the menu at $106/dish, it is perfect for sharing. It comes with a dozen raw oysters, shrimp cocktail, and a 1/2 lb king crab.

Crispy Spanish Octopus

Not everyone restaurant offers you the opportunity to dine on octopus! Octopus is very popular in most seafood towns, especially in Mexico. When cooked just right, it has a soft, tender texture. You can relate the texture and flavor of octopus meat to calamari. This crispy dish comes with hoisin, bonito, and pickled radish slaw.

Pesto Spaghetti

The pesto spaghetti is a combination of castelvetrano olives, artichoke, shrimp, pistachio pesto, and lemon! Expect a robust and slightly tangy take on this popular pasta.

Bar Selections

Much like Campground, the bar selection here is great! We highly recommend trying some of their craft specialty cocktails. For a sweet fruity drink, try The Escape or Island Hopper. If you want something light and refreshing, try the Pamplemouse Sunken Treasure, or the Green Flash.

There are over two dozen types of wine and champagne on the menu at varying price points. Some can only be ordered as a full bottle, rather than a glass. So, be sure to double check the menu before ordering.

The bar has over half a dozen beers on draft with another few in bottle form. Additionally, they carry hard kombucha, ginger beer, and teas.
