When in Arcata, Renata's Creperie is a must try. Established in 2000, this cozy cafe serves sweet and savory crepes for breakfast and lunch. What started as a pop-up, food-truck is now a brick and mortar. At their start, they served customers at the local Arcata Farmer's Market and festivals. In 2005, they transformed a book store into their current restaurant. They've still kept their incredible recipes and serve all their loyal customers at their sit-down location.

Inside, you will be transported to another place! The environment and ambiance at Renata's is quaint, colorful, and vintage. At Renata's they're all about embracing originality. Usually, you won't find the same style of cup or plate on your table. Each dish in the cafe has its own unique and whimsical design.

What's on the menu at Renata's?

All savory crepes are made with organic buckwheat and unbleached flours, hormone/cage-free milk, eggs, and their love! Meanwhile, sweet crepes are made with the same ingredients minus buckwheat. All crepes can be made using a gluten-free batter, made with almond and rice flour. You must request this at the time of ordering to ensure that your meal arrives gluten-free!

Do not let the photos deceive you, these crepes are very large! Just 1 can feed up to two people, unless you're really hungry. The best way to order here is for the table. Get a couple different sweet and savory crepes to share all around and you'll quickly find your favorites while getting a taste of everything.

Sweet Crepes

Sweet crepes are the most popular choices here. No matter which you choose, you'll be happy with your selection! Our favorites are the Banana Berry, Sweet Sister, and Maija's Secret.

Banana Berry

The banana berry comes with the best variety of breakfast fruits on top! You get bananas, raspberries, and strawberries. Additionally, it comes on a cinnamon butter, sugar cêpe, hand-whipped cream, and chocolate-hazelnut.

Sweet Sister

The sweet sister is a rich combo with bananas, chocolate-hazelnut sauce, crème fraiche, and roasted almonds!

Maija's Secret

Maija's secret is our recommendation for someone wanting a simple, yet delicious flavor. This minimal crepe comes with lemon, butter, and sugar. It's got just the right amount of tang to it!

There's a savory crepe no matter your palette! Our favorites are the Bacon Avocado Tomato, Amber Rose, and the Hungry Farmer.

Bacon Avocado Tomato

The Bacon Avocado Tomato is what we recommend for a person looking for classic breakfast flavors. It comes with all the goods including bacon, jack cheese, gorgonzola, onions, basil, avocado. In addition, it has chili flakes and crème fraiche on top.

Amber Rose

Next, the Amber Rose. This is a unique flavor pairing that isn't for everyone, but it makes for a real pretty crepe! Ingredients include bacon, brie, scrambled egg, onion, and garlic. What makes it really different is the apple, chili flakes, and crème fraiche that also come on top!

The Hungry Farmer

Just as the name would suggest, this is a hearty crepe! It features garlic-rosemary mashed potatoes, Rumiano jack cheese, onions, feta, and sour cream. Further, you can add ham, artichoke hearts, and other ingredients if you'd like. Of course, this comes with a $1.50 charge per additional ingredient.
