About

Add this charming, ice cream parlor to your itinerary to finish off the day with a sweet treat! Arcata Scoop serves up organic, premium, homemade sorbets and ice creams.

The whimsical shop has a vintage playground theme to it, with giraffe benches and even a coin-activated ride for kids to enjoy! When you imagine an ideal neighborhood ice cream shop to make family memories, this is it. Walls are painted a muted yellow and orange while the exterior is a bright sky blue. The building is easily recognized by its color and its cottage style architecture.

You'll find Arcata Scoop in the middle of all the action near Arcata Plaza. Plenty of parking is available along the streets, but it can get busy around here. Though, the area is very walkable if you have to drive a little further down to snag a spot. Some popular restaurants nearby include T's Cafe North and Renata's Creperie for breakfast/lunch. The area is truly a wonderful and lively hub to explore while you devour your delicious ice cream!

Ice Cream Flavors

Are you ready for some exciting flavors? Whether you're in the mood for something unique or something classic, Arcata Scoop does a great job of creating a well-balanced menu for all. They change flavors every few days or until they run out, in order to offer the most fresh creations. In addition, they only use the best, organic, local ingredients to mix their desserts in house! They also create each flavor in small batches for the best flavor and quality you can count on. Further, they support the local farmers by using their seasonal ingredients.

Some of their classic flavors include strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, coffee, cookies and cream, & mint chip. Alternatively, the more unique flavors can include lemon poppyseed, cinnamon, honey vanilla lavender, creamsicle, and coffee! One great thing about their menu is that they always have at least 1-2 dairy-free options to enjoy. If they have them available, we highly recommend the popular lemon sorbet, boysenberry swirl, and honey vanilla lavender!

Local Tips

  • All ice-cream is made fresh at the store in small batches.
  • They always carry two non-dairy options.
