One of the best times to visit is early in the morning. The setting is especially picturesque, with rock formations, waves rolling in, and the sky glowing pink as the sun rises over the water.

Surfing is a favorite activity here, thanks to steady waves that are lively but not too intense. The ever-changing surf keeps things interesting all day long.

While the Pacific is always chilly, the beach offers safe swimming conditions for all ages. The on-site portable restroom makes a day at the beach comfortable, and access to Little River adds to your adventure.

Adjacent to the park is The Moonstone Beach House, which you may rent for special events like weddings. There’s also a top-notch restaurant with stunning ocean views that we’ll explore in more detail in our next section.

Whether you come to surf, explore tide pools, or play in the surf, Moonstone Beach County Park will delight.

Trinidad’s mild weather makes outdoor fun possible year-round. It’s the perfect spot for biking along the shore, building sandcastles, and wading in the water.

If you enjoy photography, there’s plenty to capture, from dramatic rocks and rolling waves to the iconic Camel Rock with its two-humped silhouette offshore. At low tide, hidden caves on the north side of the beach invite exploration and add a sense of adventure to any visit.

Speaking of rocks, the park's cliffs attract rock climbers of all levels. Whether you tackle Karen Rock’s 56-60’ or Flat Top Rock’s 16’, there’s a boulder and cliff for every ability.

After a day at the beach, celebrate with a scrumptious meal at Moonstone Grill. Offering elevated fine dining just steps from the shoreline, this eatery serves lunch, happy hour, and sunset dining.
