Hapy Bistro

About

At first glance, you might think "Hapy" is a misspelling of "happy," but Hapy Bistro refers to the Ancient Egyptian god of rivers.

Brothers Nabil, Tony, and Samir Fadel opened their Mediterranean-inspired restaurant in 2016. The Fadel family moved to America in the 80s for a better life. When the boys spotted the vacant building in Pismo Beach, they knew it was time to launch Hapy Bistro.

When designing a logo, they utilized a lotus because the river god Hapy is often depicted wearing it on his headdress. Another reason for the lotus is it represents the Fadel family's journey from adversity to prosperity.

The brothers lassoed Chef Gustavo Nunez onto the team, and together, they created a menu that blends the Fadels' heritage with Nunez's expertise in Mediterranean cuisine. Over time, Hapy Bistro earned a stellar reputation for its cuisine, putting it on the page with other eateries like Ember Restaurant.

When you visit, you'll also discover inspiration from their grandfather, an exceptional distiller. A distillery is part of the restaurant and produces Kasak and Hapy Vodka. Kasak, the first Arak label distilled in the U.S., symbolizes the Fadels' dual citizenship by combining California-grown grapes with imported anise.

Hapy Bistro offers a unique dining experience, making it essential to your vacation itinerary.

Vibe

Don't let Hapy Bistro's unassuming strip mall location fool you into thinking the decor and fare are blasé. Once through the doors, you're welcomed into an atmosphere suitable for a romantic dinner or outing with the kids. And the aromas from the kitchen are a foretaste of amazing things to come!

The dining area is small but features subtle touches that create a warm and inviting ambiance. A wine display serves as a divider to a wall of glass-encased beers and wines that are chilled and ready for purchase.

Apart from the dining area is the full-service bar, which has a Navy blue ceiling and LED miniature lights that conjure images of dining under a starlit sky. There is plenty of seating around and near the bar, making it ideal for casual get-togethers or reminiscing about your day at Monarch Butterfly Grove.

Out in the back of Hapy Bistro is an outdoor dining area that further enhances the overall vibe and captures the essence of coastal living.

Hapy Bistro: Menu & Drinks

Hapy Bistro uses grass-fed beef, lamb, and chicken from the Central Coast and fresh veggies.

A standout entree is the Beef Shish Kabobs. This Mediterranean staple showcases melt-in-your-mouth cubes of Filet Mignon seasoned perfectly and grilled with cherry tomatoes, onions, and bell peppers. The skewers come with hummus and tzatziki sauce and two sides: rice pilaf, Greek salad, grilled vegetables, or French fries.

The Tuscan Chicken Pasta will appeal to Italian cuisine lovers! This linguine dish is rich with artichoke hearts, spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, and capers. The ingredients come in a garlic cream sauce with parmesan cheese and pita bread.

Refuel with the Ribeye Steak meal after an adventure with the Pacific Adventure Tour. It features a 16-oz. ribeye steak grilled to order and topped with lemon and olive oil. Housemade chimichurri sauce comes on the side, along with two sides: rice pilaf, Greek salad, grilled vegetables, or French fries.

A great family-friendly option for carryout is the Hapy Family Meal. This feast feeds two adults and two children and features two skewers each of beef, chicken, and shrimp. Along with that, we have rice, salad, two dolmas, four pieces of falafel, and a side of tzatziki sauce.

Regarding drinks, Hapy Bistro boasts an impressive wine and beer selection. However, if you're feeling adventurous, try their on-site distilled spirits, Kasak and Happy Vodka. The full bar can also create delicious craft cocktails, ensuring something for every palate.

For authentic Mediterranean fare in a family-friendly setting, visit Hapy Bistro on your Pismo Beach vacation.
