About

Hurtling through the air, splashing through adventure-filled waters, and journeying in fantastical worlds are brought to life at Universal's Islands of Adventure!

A part of the larger Universal Orlando Resort, Islands of Adventure opened its gates in 1999, ready to transport visitors to places where superheroes battle villains, dinosaurs roam freely, and magic is just a wand flick away.

This extraordinary theme park is divided into eight uniquely themed islands, each offering adventure. From the comic-strip streets of Toon Lagoon to the prehistoric jungles of Jurassic Park and the magic-filled corridors of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Islands of Adventure is where stories come alive, characters step out of screens, and every turn brings a new adventure.

Once you've wandered through the magical portals, there's no limit to the adventures waiting for you. Aside from the rides, guests can expect encounters with heroes, attend shows, do some shopping, dine on tasty fare, and much more!

Universal's Islands of Adventure promises family-friendly fun that will be treasured forever.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

One of the standout features of Islands of Adventure is that it's home to one of the most technologically advanced rides in the world: Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. This immersive ride uses a combination of robotics, CGI, and live action to make riders feel as though they're soaring through the skies with Harry Potter.

Another fun fact is that Islands of Adventure was the first park to feature a free-fall drop ride with a tilt element. The Jurassic Park River Adventure sees visitors gently floating down a river before being ambushed by a T-Rex and then dropped 85 feet!

The Islands of Adventure is more than just a day out; it's an immersion into worlds only dreamed of, where imagination takes flight and childhood dreams become tangible.

While Universal's Islands of Adventure is known for its thrilling rides and immersive environments, it also offers live performances. One of the most popular attractions is "The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show," a live-action performance showcasing death-defying stunts and acrobatics.

For those looking for a more interactive experience, the "Poseidon's Fury" show takes visitors on an adventure through ancient ruins filled with special effects, waterfalls, and fire.

Whether you're looking to fly with Harry Potter, want to watch entertaining shows, or meet your favorite superhero, Universal's Islands of Adventure is the place to go on an Orlando getaway!
