About

Being an avid fishing enthusiast, I'm always eager to embark on new adventures, which led me to Salmon Raft in McCall, Idaho.

I booked a five-day Salmon River Canyon tour and had the experience of a lifetime that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking remote wilderness experiences. This trip, available in four- and five-day options, allows you to cover up to 75 miles of roadless river on a raft. I found it invigorating, physically challenging, and simply the ideal adventure.

It truly is the ultimate river trip!

The journey takes you through the captivating Lower Salmon River canyons, offering exceptional sights and an immersive experience. The trip was truly unforgettable, culminating at Heller Bar in Lewiston, our takeout spot. Throughout the entire journey, you're surrounded by stunning wilderness and breathtaking scenery, providing a relaxing atmosphere even as you engage in a vigorous pursuit.

During your time on this incredible adventure, you'll have the opportunity to converse with knowledgeable individuals who have intimate familiarity with the area and are eager to share fascinating stories. Each member of the group is well-educated and prepared to assist you in making your adventure a success.

And despite initially expecting to face some difficult days, I found the experience to be utterly fantastic and incredibly educational.

So, if you're a traveler seeking an unforgettable adventure in McCall that combines the beauty of the wilderness with thrilling challenges, look no further than a Salmon River Canyon tour with Salmon Raft.

It's the perfect blend of excitement, relaxation, and education, leaving you with memories to cherish for a lifetime.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

Pay attention to the animals—on my journey, I encountered big horn sheep, black bears, river otters, and a plethora of birds along the canyon. Witnessing the impressive wilderness in person is truly awe-inspiring.

Throughout the trip, you'll have the opportunity to learn a great deal about this natural space. The remote nature of this route elevates the experience into one of the best adventures you'll ever embark upon.

And if you're unable to commit to a lengthy excursion, there are options for shorter trips. You can book a two- or three-day journey, which is an excellent way to get a taste of the experience, particularly if you have limited prior exposure.

Alternatively, you may be interested in the three to five-day canyon rafting tours that meander through Hells Canyon. These tours cater to your preferences, ranging from 34 to 81 miles in distance. While I can't provide firsthand insight on these shorter experiences, I can assure you that my own trip was fantastic from start to finish. I wholeheartedly encourage you to consider trying one of these exhilarating adventures.
