About

Rotary Park was the perfect place to visit during my trip to McCall, Idaho!

I was with a group of friends and our children, and we were all enthralled by the park's picturesque location by the lake. Being summer and a hot day, it was bustling with activity, which added to the vibrant atmosphere.

We arrived early to secure a good spot, and soon the kids were splashing around in the water and playing on the clean, sandy beach. An adjacent playground added another layer of fun for the little ones.

Rotary Park is a great place to while away a few hours, especially if you're up for some swimming. Conveniently, there are bathrooms where you can change, making it easy to spend the entire day by the lake if you so wish.

We enjoyed a relaxed picnic lunch on the grassy area, and as the sun began to set, we treated ourselves to ice cream, soaking in the breathtaking views of the sunset over the lake.

One thing to note about Rotary Park is its size. It's not very large, so it can get crowded pretty quickly. But, from my experience, the crowd tends to be transient, with most visitors staying for less than an hour. So, despite the occasional rush, the park remains a charming spot for a family outing.

I highly recommend this awesome park!

Cool Features Of Rotary Park

Hey, if you're planning a trip to Rotary Park, here's a tip: pack some food for a picnic!

There are these grassy hills where you can set up camp and enjoy a meal with a view. They've got a few picnic tables too, so you can really get into the picnic spirit right by the lake. Just remember there's no place to cook, so bring ready-to-eat stuff.

And one of the coolest features of the park is this paved walkway that leads you straight to the water. It's perfect if you want to enjoy the lake without getting wet. It's more of a leisurely stroll than a hike, but trust me, it's a great way to experience the lake up close.

And the best part? You can bring your furry friend along as long as they're on a leash. With plenty of space to spread out and relax, it's an awesome spot to chill. The path isn't too long, so while it might not help you hit your daily step count, it definitely offers some beautiful views and a relaxed atmosphere.

Getting There

Rotary Park is located on West Lake Street in McCall. It’s just at the east end of the Lardo Bridge, and it’s really easy to get to if you are on Highway 55.

In fact, it’s right at the point where the North Folk Payette River links to the lake. So when you are driving into the area, park right at the entrance of the park on the gravel road and head inside from there.

Cost

Free! It's a city park.

Local Tips

  • This is very much a family-friendly park, and that is the reason my family loved visiting it. You will find all ages here.
  • There are restrooms available, and they were clean and well cared for, but there’s nowhere to rinse off after being in the sand.
  • The play structure is fun with a lake monster theme to it. The kids loved climbing all over it and playing in the sand.
  • It is right off the roadway, and there is no lifeguard on duty, so you have to be careful and watch what’s happening.
