About

If you're an ardent skier looking for a new destination, Little Ski Hill in McCall, Idaho, comes highly recommended.

This hidden gem offers t-bar access and over 400 vertical feet of terrain to explore. With a total of six diverse runs, a day spent at Little Ski Hill promises a delightful skiing experience for all skill levels.

Established in 1937, Little Ski Hill is part of the Payette Lakes Ski Club, which also operates the nearby Bear Basin Nordic Center. Though I didn't get the chance to visit Bear Basin or partake in any of the club events during my time there, I know they offer a variety of fun outdoor activities worth exploring.

What makes Little Ski Hill particularly unique is its dedication to providing an exceptional learning environment for newcomers. During our visit, my younger daughter enjoyed taking part in their fantastic youth programs tailored to introduce and engage children in skiing. It's a popular destination for school trips, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere for kids and adults alike.

Despite its popularity, Little Ski Hill never felt crowded, and there was plenty of terrain to keep us entertained throughout the afternoon. The engaging and lively ambiance made our time at Little Ski Hill a memorable experience, and I can't recommend it enough for anyone looking to indulge their passion for skiing while visiting McCall.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

Night skiing is one of the coolest features here. And if you've never tried it, I highly recommend it to everyone.

Thanks to the thoughtful design and ample lighting on the hill, it was the most fantastic nighttime skiing I have ever had. Unlike other destinations where I've felt concerned or uneasy, night skiing at Little Ski Hill was neither worrisome nor scary.

And while I was in the area, I discovered that Little Ski Hill is actually one of the oldest ski resorts in the entire state!

Surprisingly, you wouldn't be able to tell that just by looking at it since the entire area is so well-maintained. This charming little gem of a resort has a rich history, as it has been in continuous operation for nearly 80 years. Its enduring appeal is a sure testament to the love and dedication poured into it over the years.

So, if you're a traveler in search of unforgettable skiing experiences, Little Ski Hill should definitely make it to your list of must-visit destinations. Be prepared for an amazing blend of old charm, well-preserved facilities, and thrilling night skiing—all guaranteed to make your visit worthwhile.
