About

Lamppost Coffee is a nice, upscale coffee shop that offers mini specialty coffees and drinks. They also bottle their own products.

I’ve learned there are currently six locations throughout the Highland Lakes area, and one of them is located just a bit off Georgetown Square.

One of the things that make this location stand out is that you can tell they really know what they are doing. Not only are they incredibly friendly, but they also seem to have a craft for coffee, and it shows in their quality knowledge.

Every time I go, I find myself learning about some great coffee insights. That’s so different than the big coffee chains.

Brian Burns is the founder of the company, and he seems to have a team of really dedicated professionals (they are super laid back, from what I can tell) and do an excellent job of running all the locations.

Vibe

Lamppost Coffee is a beautiful little coffee shop with a down-to-earth vibe.

This location has a large backroom, and there’s patio dining in the back as well. Or, you can sit on the front patio and enjoy your coffee.

I also found that they have a big conference area and more lounging space, so you could definitely bring in a group here for a meeting or a quick stop before heading off to another meeting.

Lamppost Coffee: Menu & Drinks

I visited this location without a lot of expectations. I had no idea what to order or what I wanted.

The staff was super friendly and helpful to me, so I felt pretty good about it. The drink I ordered was premade, and the lady that helped me took care to make sure it wasn’t expired before I bought it.

The menu has a number of options, especially with espressos. That includes Americano, cappuccino, cortado, and lattes. They also have an espresso milkshake that looks fantastic.

I also noticed they sell loose-leaf tea. There are a variety of options available, including Bengal Chai, Moroccan Mint, Chamomile, and Peach Melba, and I will definitely need to try one of those, too.

If you are hungry, they have a menu of some great foods here too.

That includes the Classic, which is a breakfast sandwich with a fried egg, ham or bacon, and cheese on an English muffin. They also have a fantastic avocado toast that has feta, balsamic glaze, sunflower seeds, and arugula. It says to upgrade it to add a fried egg for even more protein.

There are some pre-made baked goods here as well, including muffins (there’s a blueberry lemon glaze that’s vegan!), as well as cookies, bread, and brownies.

For lunch meals, check out the options—a Grilled Cuban with a ton of meat on it, the East St., which has turkey, ham, provolone, arugula, and mayo on a pretzel bun, and The Lamppost Special, which includes turkey, bacon, a fried egg, and grilled jalapenos.

You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu here!

Local Tips

  • The pricing here is reasonable, especially when you consider the quality, and they are about the same as what you would pay at Starbucks with better quality.
  • Take a look at the art on the walls, which is all done by local artists and is spectacular.
  • I saw a number of people pop in and pick up the coffee that they ordered online through the company’s website – that’s a fast way to get what you want!
  • A fruit smoothie, made with real fruit, is another option that you simply cannot pass up here if you are looking for something special. They let you pick one or two fruits and then a base to customize it to fit your tastes.
