Deer Creek Reservoir: Fun Facts & Cool Features

A fun fact is that the water's temperature is cool, and the lake is deep. While there are some dedicated beaches, on average, 25-30 feet from the shore, it drops to 60 feet. In the middle of the reservoir, it can reach 138 feet.

Fox Den, Chokecherry, and Great Horned Owl campgrounds offer camping from May through October. Reservations are required, and fees vary by site.

Getting There

• Start on US-40 heading east from Heber City.
• After about 5 miles, you will see the Deer Creek State Park sign.
• Turn right onto Deer Creek Dam Road.
• Continue for approximately half a mile until you reach the park entrance.
• Once inside the park, follow the signs to the desired activity area.
