When Matt Johnson moved to Heber City, he set out on a mission: to bring NY-style bagels to Utah. 

Matt opened The Bagel Den and sourced the bagel dough from Long Island, New York. While he could have used local dough, Matt knew that he needed to go out of state to get that famous NYC chewy texture. It's why their website boasts, "Born in NY, Baked in Utah."

The NY dough arrives fresh every week, and from there, the bagel wizards at The Bagel Den add locally sourced ingredients to create the 19 unique flavors diners have come to know and love.

While Matt's goal was to bring the taste of NY deli bagels to Utah, he didn't want NY's fast-paced and impersonal lifestyle to tag along. What you have at The Bagel Den is a spacious, welcoming, hip, and friendly restaurant.

The interior decor evokes Utah's outdoorsy feel with natural wood features and a stone fireplace. There's ample seating and small tables near the windows to enjoy the view. Toss in the aroma of freshly baked bagels and a chalkboard menu, and you know you're in a chic, vibey spot.

First, let's start with the choices of bagels offered at The Bagel Den. Sure, there are the classic flavors like everything, sesame, cinnamon raisin, and salt. But consider trying something unique like French toast, Pumpernickel, or cheddar jalapeno, to list a few. 

Their spreads are equally unique, like bacon scallion, blueberry, honey and almond, and many others. They also offer other spreads like peanut butter, hummus, and Nutella.

When you're famished, try any one of their Breakfast Sandwiches. One standout is the Cali with egg, bacon, avocado, and jalapeno cream cheese. 

Don't forget that bagels make great sandwiches, too! For lunch, consider a hot or cold bagel sandwich with chips, a fruit cup or seasonal deli salad, and a pickle.
