The Bonner brothers built the building in 1874 and named it the Midway Mercantile. For decades, the store supplied pioneers, farmers, and travelers with a sundry of products and supplies.
Fast forward to 2017, when the Platt family took ownership of the building. With renovations and culinary foresight, they transformed the store into a welcoming restaurant.
Their vision was to have a hearth-to-table restaurant focused on "family, friends, food, and fire." Judging by their success and reputation, they've succeeded.
The Platt's commitment to preserving Midway's heritage, right down to the details of the building restoration, reflects in every aspect of the restaurant, from the warm welcome you'll receive to the carefully curated menu.
With Chef John Platt at the helm, he ensures the restaurant's dedication to local heritage shines. They use locally sourced ingredients that are transformed into tantalizing dishes.
Its location makes it the perfect before or after destination on a day filled with adventures. After a day on the slopes at Park City Mountain, unwind with hot food and cold drinks. Cruise the Alpine Scenic Loop in American Fork and head to Midway for a celebratory meal at the mercantile.
