About

For a relaxing meal with picturesque views of the Intercoastal Waterways, set sail for Coconuts restaurant in Fort Lauderdale.

Coconuts was established in 1980 and initially introduced as a sister restaurant to Mangos on Las Olas. It was owned by restaurateur and musician John Day, who also operated several other establishments in the area, including Chuck's Steakhouse.

In 2006, the restaurant underwent a significant change when it was bought by Elliot Wolf and Merv Jonota. They aimed to break away from the typical tourist fare of waterfront dining. Their efforts have been successful, as Coconuts is now a favorite among locals despite its proximity to popular tourist attractions.
