About
When you combine NY-style pizza with a health-centered mission, you get Slice420. The restaurant was founded by Christian and Stefany, a couple who once ran A Bronx Tale pizzeria in Florida. But when their youngest daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy and cerebral palsy, their world was turned upside down.
The medications that doctors prescribed weren’t effective, so the family considered alternative medicine. The caveat was challenging: this life-changing treatment was only available in Colorado.
For the family, the choice was clear, so with a leap of faith, they sold the Florida pizzeria and opened their first location in Old Colorado City in 2017.
They chose “Slice420” as a nod to the cannabis world associated with Colorado. While they don't serve cannabis-infused pizzas, they want the name to spark a conversation about how alternative medicine helped their daughter. Furthermore, the family puts their money where their mouth is by donating a portion of every sale to support alternative medicine, medical refugee families, and children’s special-needs groups.
While the story pulls on one’s heartstrings, it’s the pizza that has put them on the culinary map. The Springs Magazine has the pizzeria as the Best of the Springs, landing on its coveted "best pizza" list year after year.
As demand grew, the family opened a second location at Oro Blanco Drive, offering additional seating and a full bar.
When visiting Colorado Springs, dining at Slice420 for lunch or dinner offers tasty pies while supporting a life-giving cause.
Vibe
Located in the Old Town Plaza, it occupies several spots in the small strip, showcasing picture windows and signature signage, making it easy to find.
The interior has been expanded to occupy the next-door space, offering several dining areas. The decor stays simple and clean, with white tiled walls and red accents, and black-and-white tiled floors with Pergo floors in the new spaces. The exposed ceiling and ductwork, along with the glass display case, combine industrial and cafe features perfectly.
Aside from the indoor dining areas, outdoor tables out front make dining on warmer days a delight.
All of these qualities make Slice420 a smart stop during a Colorado Springs vacation, whether you want a quick bite between sightseeing or a sit-down meal with the family.
Slice420: Menu & Drinks
This pizzeria takes great pride in offering hand-tossed pies with authentic NY-style crusts, plus gluten-free options. Additionally, they only use Grande cheese, a four-ingredient sweet and aromatic sauce, and fresh toppings.
At lunchtime, bring the crew in for pizza-by-the-slice. Not only will everyone get something they prefer, but the choices include chicken-bacon-Ranch, The Works, and Hawaiian. Of course, pepperoni and assorted cheese flavors round out the selections.
The gourmet pizzas are where Slice420 flexes its culinary muscles. A perfect example is The Sofia, named after their daughter who inspired the family business. This creative masterpiece showcases an olive oil base with mozzarella cheese and a hard cheese blend with pepperoni, sweet caramelized onions, fresh piped ricotta, and hot cherry peppers. Add the drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey and fresh basil, and you have a one-of-a-kind taste sensation.
The Mountain Man is your go-to for a hearty pie packed with toppings. The mouth-watering pie begins with red sauce and shredded mozzarella and then becomes a meat-lovers paradise. On top of the sauce and cheese are pepperoni, Italian sausage, chopped bacon, and sliced homemade meatballs. Lastly, the pizza is garnished with a hard cheese blend and fresh basil, making it one of the shop’s top picks.
Beyond the pizza, the menu covers calzones, subs, salads, and classic Italian desserts. Cannoli and tiramisu round out a meal on a sweet note, with gluten-free specials popping up occasionally.
Currently, this location doesn’t offer adult beverages, but it has plenty of fountain drinks.
No matter which location you dine at, Slice420 offers standout pizzas while supporting a cause close to its heart. All of which makes this a rewarding stop on your Colorado getaway.
