About
After a day exploring Mount Rushmore or Custer State Park, you’ll need a hearty meal. While the name is a bit off-putting, Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews will deliver with its over-the-top hamburgers, wings, and home-style dinner.
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews got its start in 2012 in Fargo, North Dakota. The name was derived from friends who took a “sick day” to work on motorcycles and cars at the garage. A “sickie” also implied eating burgers piled high with incredible, and sometimes ridiculous, ingredients. What began as one spirited burger stop grew into a beloved regional brand, home to 50 burgers and 50 brews. But wait, there’s more, like award-winning chicken wings, loaded mac and cheese, mashed potato bowls, salads, baskets, and creamy malts and milkshakes.
If that doesn’t make you wanna rush to Sickies, perhaps the daily specials will!
Monday: kids eat free (up to 2 free kids' meals with an adult entrée)

Wagyu Wednesday: $2 off featured Wagyu burgers or upgrade any burger to a Wagyu patty for $2.

Vibe
The garage-themed vibe at Sickies will take your breath away. Picture vivid neon lighting on the roof sign, industrial lights, an old jalopy out front, and vintage gas pumps guarding the entrance. This place looks more like a 50s garage on steroids!
Step inside and the automotive motif keeps rolling with metal accents, tools, license plates, and even a motorcycle dangling over the bar. The open ceiling, industrial lighting, and concrete floor add to the garage feel.
Seating covers plenty of ground, like the full bar that anchors one area, ideal for an even more laid-back dining experience. Tables and booths dot the main dining room, with room for larger groups and travel crews.
Whether you visit for lunch, dinner, Happy Hour, or weekend brunch, you'll find the vibe suitable.
Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews: Menu & Drinks
Diners come for the burgers, and a few clear favorites rise to the top. The Sickies Burger sets the tone, stacking peppered bacon, a fried egg, pulled pork, BBQ sauce, and American cheese, then topping it all with onion rings and a splash of hot sauce. It is the signature build for a reason.
The Twin Cam takes a different path, sandwiching a bacon-and-nacho-cheese-topped patty between two grilled cheese sandwiches used as the bun.
For anyone chasing pure novelty, the Glazed Doughnut burger delivers, using a glazed doughnut bun with American cheese and peppered bacon for a sweet-and-savory combination that will have your taste buds dancing!
The award-winning wings come boneless or traditional, in orders of 6, 10, or 20, and pair with more than 20 sauces! The PB&J sauce stands out as the kitchen's uniquely delicious, award-winning creation, though bolder eaters can climb the heat ladder all the way to Hell's Fury.
If you’re craving a meal like good ole mom would make, check out the Hot Beef Dinner, featuring a hot roast beef sandwich on Texas toast with mashed potatoes and brown gravy.
Drinks match the menu's playful streak, such as the adult milkshakes spiked with alcohol. Beer fans should look to Sickies' house brews, like the Ignition IPA or the Big Wrench Wheat, offering a refreshing, easy-drinking option. The aforementioned weekend brunch features $20 bottomless Bloody Marys, mimosas, or screwdrivers.
All of this makes Sickies Garage Burgers & Brews a smart addition to a Black Hills getaway.
