About

While on a mountain getaway in Angel Fire, you’ll quickly see that one of the best dining options in town comes from a truck window, not a white tablecloth. Formerly located in Taos, Bomb Street started as a top food truck destination and, as of Spring 2025, can now be found in Angel Fire. This casual dining spot is known for authentic Mexican cuisine, breakfast tacos, and fresh daily fare. With a menu centered on tacos, quesadillas, and burgers, locals call it a go-to spot for a relaxed lunch.

The founders of Bomb Street, Danny and Gandhi Cortes, initially met in Angel Fire in 2011. Nearly a decade later, they started the family-run taco cart near the John Dunn shops in Taos. In 2025, the pair returned to their Angel Fire stomping grounds and Bomb Street set up shop.

In addition to their fresh authentic dishes, what has set Bomb Street apart from the beginning is its setting. The truck began operating in a courtyard under a canopy of trees, and now is located conveniently right in front of Alpine Lumber just about 5 minutes from the slopes. The view across the road provides an ideal mountain setting. Friendly service and big flavor have made it a regular stop for locals and visitors. The prices are easy on a family budget, too.

Vibe

Bomb Street is all about easygoing, open-air dining. You order at the window, grab your food, and settle in. There's no formal dining room and no dress code.

Seating is outdoors, so the experience shifts with the seasons. Summer brings warm afternoons in the shade, while fall adds crisp air and changing leaves. Kids can stretch their legs, adults can unwind, and nobody minds if you show up in hiking boots or ski layers. It feels like a neighborhood hangout, and that's the charm.

Bomb Street: Menu & Drinks

The carnitas tacos are the dish people talk about most. The pork is tender and juicy, with crisp edges that hold up well in a warm tortilla. Add a squeeze of lime and a spoonful of salsa, and you'll see why fans keep coming back.

Carne asada is the pick for steak lovers. The beef is grilled, chopped, and packed with smoky, savory flavor. It works in tacos or a quesadilla, so you can order it your way.

For something different, try the cheese and meat quesadilla. This fusion favorite combines seasoned burger meat and melted cheese inside a golden, toasted tortilla. It's filling, fun to share, and a smart choice for younger eaters who want something familiar.

Bomb Street is worth a stop because it delivers bold, satisfying food in a setting that matches the laid-back pace of mountain life. It's quick, affordable, and family-friendly. After a morning on the trails or the slopes, there are few better ways to refuel in Angel Fire.
