Statement from Casago regarding the tragic death in Rocky Point at Sonoran Sea Resort:

We are devastated by what has occurred and our hearts are with the family and the victims of this terrible incident.

The Sonoran Sea is a condo resort, and the HOA is responsible for all common areas including the maintenance of the swimming pool, hot tubs, and grounds. Casago, in our role as a vacation rental company, is not involved in any management or maintenance of the resort and its common areas. Regarding this incident, our involvement ends at the individual condo reservation.

Our understanding is that the formal investigation of the incident is already underway. While we have no involvement in the maintenance or repair of common areas at the resort, we will continue to cooperate fully if there’s anything we can offer.

We would like to inform you that we have received our second defibrillator and bought children pads for it as well, it will be installed in the guards palapa by the pool area.

We have planned a training course for the HOA employees this upcoming July 17th, 2024 from 9 am – 2 pm. The invitation for this training is open for all Owners if desired to be part of please let us know, the training will also include learning about first responder CPR, fire extinguishers, and movement of injured guests.

We would also want to update you we have provided all required documentation to state and local authorities; we are waiting for their approval to reopen the areas. Once we get this approval, we would like to hold a zoom meeting with all Owners to inform what happened, what caused the incident, and explain all pertinent actions the HOA has taken and will take to avoid for this to happen in the future.
