About
The Georgetown Antique Mall was an unexpected find right off Georgetown Square in Highland Lakes, Texas.
Quite the cute antique store, and you think you’ll be in here for a few minutes just to look around—doesn’t happen like that for me!
Many of the items at the Georgetown Antique Mall are from decades ago, with their own stories to tell. There are so many things here, including jewelry, antique dishes, silverware, handmade pictures, so much art in various forms, and furniture. I have found something here for anything I’m interested in, including things like old toys and beautiful vintage books for display.
The staff here is fantastic. They are happy to share any knowledge they have of any of the items on display, but many pieces have an unknown history, and that’s what makes them fascinating. There are pieces from the Civil War, stunning stained glass from Victorian times, and detailed furniture.
I am a lover of beautiful antique and vintage glass. I love the collection of stunning items here, including Fenton, Depression Glass, lots of cut glass, and some beautiful pieces of stained glass. For those who love the Civil War, the large collection of items tells the story of this time period, and the staff is happy to answer many of your questions.
I also love the pottery, and they have a lot of options here, including McCoy, Franciscan, and Roseville. You will also find plenty of sterling and silver plated items, antique books, and fine antique linens.
Interesting Facts About Georgetown Antique Mall
I remember a conversation I had with a very nice woman at the front of the store.
She pointed out a big bowl of keys that said, “work somewhere!” Over time people dropped off more keys that once worked somewhere, filling the bowl to the brim with them.
Though many antique shops have old jewelry, I found this location to be one of the best when you want truly unique items as well as signed pieces.
You may not need to buy something, but you may be looking for information. If you are hoping to do some research for a project or gather insight into your family history, stop by the Georgetown Antique Mall. They can help you with research! There are some outstanding people here with lots of experience.
The inventory at this shop is often changing, and that means that it can easily become the type of location you visit on a consistent basis. I try to stop by as much as possible, but there’s always something new to find.
And if you haven’t done so yet, be sure to stop in after enjoying a meal at one of the area restaurants or visiting the other shops in the area.
As far as the prices go, antiquing is about buying history and beauty, but I have found this location to offer some of the most competitive pricing available. They are great about working with you, too, especially if you want to negotiate for specific pieces. They may even buy some of your own treasures if you bring them in for an appraisal.
