Description

Las Mañanitas
San Jose del Cabo, Hotel Zone.
Condominium B5
Entering the wonderful Las Mañanitas Complex, and turning left at the wonderful, windswept fountain, down an isle and past the luxurious gardens and red-tiled corridors, lays the marvelous Condominium B5.
This two bedroom, two bathroom unit is a dream come true. The white tiles in the floor as you enter the bone colored walls of the hallway seem serene and peaceful, almost immaculate. The iron works and deep colored wood above them have an air of vintage and grandeur.
To the right is the laundry room fully equipped with laundry center, iron board, and floating tubes for relaxing in the wonderful pool in the common areas, to which you have full access. Pool side towels are also available for your convenience.
Palm tree skin is stretched and carved, creating a magnificent array of shapes that resemble a steering wheel in a grand vessel.
The kitchen is a perfect blend of the antique and the high-tech appliances of to-day. The dark chestnut-colored wood is in high relief with the white floors, and in subtle mergence with the sand colored granite that sits atop the entire kitchen. Eventually, almost by chance, the peaceful arrangement is broken by the high gloss of the inox-chrom appliances. What seems to be a cave in the ceiling hides a fan and lamp, which provide air and light.
Dishwasher, over-the-range microwave, and all sort of utensils are available for you in this de-luxe kitchen. Three iron bar stools are here for breakfast mornings, or coffee afternoons.
A natural wood cabinet in the simplest, cordial match with the naked, toffee-colored wall and pristine floor, holds blown-glass figurines and margarita cups. Atop, oven-baked clay adorns the piece, almost blending with the wall.
A beautiful, round table, six person dinner is set against a window that overlooks the sea and other developments. The intricate pattern of the iron work in the table clashes against the simple wood-weave rattan of the chairs. Comfortable cushions are in place to soften the coarse grip of the fibers.
In the back, a small, bench-like table sits underneath a masterful mirror. The brass frame glistens as the glass reflects the outside.
And the view is why the walls are nude.
Berating against the powerful sun, a deep, blue, shimmering ocean seems to scream at full force the freedom of its watery depth. One after another, the massive waves crash against the soft sand, leaving behind wonderful explosions of white foam, reminiscing of the clouds. The dark sea almost blends into the horizon, and seems to stretch all the way to the all-mighty sun. Ocean and Sun are the true King and Queen of this land, and they both seem to battle for control. The Sea launches the refreshing mist, as the Sun tries to dry out the Sea. It is this, which gives Baja the grand splendor of its own.
A three piece living room is in place, complete with all commodities and modern affairs. The blue couches and small table set a romantic ambiance, which can only be outdone by the Sunrise or Sunset. Wonderful ironworks, in tables and lamps, seem to enlarge the room.
Outside, still hidden from the Sun, is a four person dinner. The simple table and chairs are made to be comfortable, not visual, and to allow you to fully grasp the beauty of the emerald palm trees against the sapphire Sea and golden sand. A turquoise sky turns into a mix of rubies and gold and fire opals and flames in the late hours of the day, as well as the early hours of the morn.
Two more chairs, two lounge chairs, and a hot tub, wait for your leisure and rest.
Inside the guest room, which can be accessed either by the terrace or the living room, two full size beds with iron headrests wait. Soft drapes provide some shade, and heavy blackouts provide privacy. An entertainment center is here, fully equipped for your use. With a glass-door-showered bathroom and mirror-hidden closet, the only need to be outside is to look at the sunrise. Sand-ish marble sits atop the sink, like compacted beach sand.
On the other side of this home, the Master Bedroom awaits.
The white king size bed, gently leaning on the wooden headrest, is watched from above by another palm tree carved skin, framed in chocolate-brown. Once again the naked walls seem to beg for you to look outside at the gorgeous land. Small iron nightstands crowned with table lamps, and a simple chair in beige couches seems to be all the décor this room needs. The private terrace with its two chairs and iron railings complete this master piece of privacy, delicacy, and luxury. An entertainment center and matching drawers, along with a small mirror, are all that there is left to see inside.
The hallway to the bathroom is like the entrance to another world. Floor-to-ceiling mirror doors hide the closet, while facing a double sink in terra marble, with a side-to-side mirror that creates an eternity illusion with the large mirrored doors. Matte chocolate woodworks are underneath the sink, storing spaces ready for use.
As you enter the bathroom, the hot tub, embedded in stones and marble tiles that climb waist-high, seems to crash in colorful contrast with the dark colored tiles of its walls, and then with the pristine white of the floor. To the right is the shower, with a glass shield between itself and the tub, and a demi-arch window to show you the miraculous view of the Sea of Cortez. The color of the tiles seem to make this bath a grotto, a cave in the earth, where the ancient and the modern mix and blend. Books and magazines are available for relaxing hot tub times.
